On 25 October 2018 the second edition of the Italy-Africa Conference was held in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, bringing together in Rome over 40 delegations from African countries, African Union leaders and high-ranking representatives of the main international organisations in the United Nations system.

The Italian President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, made the opening speech, followed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi and the Vice President of the African Union Commission, Kwesi Quartey.

The conference renewed its commitment to cooperation between Italy and Africa, previously approved in the first edition in May 2016, and offered a further opportunity for a fertile exchange of opinions with African ministers of foreign affairs, high-ranking representatives of the main international organisations and Italian businesses, universities and society.

The exhibition Ex Africa – Stories and identities of universal art, was presented to the Human Development Panel: a united front facing the question of a global approach: culture, education and mobility.
